INGREDIENTS
- Palak leaves, finely chopped - 5-6
- Ghee - 1tbsp
- Jeera/cumin seeds - 1tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2tbsp
- Green chillies, finely chopped - 1nos
- Onions, finely chopped - 1
- Tomatoes, finely chopped - 2
- Toor dal, cooked - 1/2 cup
- Dry red chillies - 2nos
- Asafoetida/hing - 1/2tsp
- Lemon juice - 1tsp
- Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Take a pan and add 1tsp of ghee on medium heat
- Add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds. Once they start crackling, add 1tsp of ginger garlic paste
- Add the chopped green chillies and the dry red chillies. Add 1/4 tsp of asafoetida (hing) & the chopped onions
- Saute until the onions are translucent. Add the chopped tomatoes. Saute for a min
- Add the chopped palak leaves. Mix well. Once the leaves are mushy, add the cooked dal
- Add some water if required(Only if the consistency of the dal is too thick). Add some salt to taste and 1tsp of lemon juice
- Mix it well and close the lid. Let it cook for 5-7 mins.
Tada! Healthy and tasty, Dal palak is ready to be served.
